The Celtics have their backs to the wall, and LA is all but guaranteed to steamroll their way to the finals. Who will they face, Miami, or Boston?

Sep 19, 2020

The Clippers' epic collapse. Denver's extraordinary grit. Miami KO's Milwaukee. The Celts have their backs against the wall in the East finals. Coach is here to take us through it all. It's playoffs in the Bubble, volume IV.

Sep 6, 2020

Coach breaks down what the Bucks need to do to avoid a devastating 2nd round sweep. Also, why Frank Vogel will have to pack his bags if he can't find the answers to adjust to Houston's small ball lineups. The playoffs rage on and all the hot takes are right here!

Sep 4, 2020

Coach and Tone jump around the league's round 2 games, PG showdowns in the West, how the Bucks and Raptors can get their mojo back, and the difficult path the fighting Celtics have to navigate to get out of the East.

Sep 4, 2020

Coach and Tone break down the first round of playoff games inside the NBA Bubble.

Aug 2, 2020

NBA is back, and so is grumpy old Coach with his opinions on the good bad and ugly of the reboot. To pay tribute to the restart of the MLB, we did a fun segment at the end to give you a look into how scary Coach's memory actually is :)

Aug 1, 2020

On the cusp of the NBA Restart from the Bubble in Orlando, Coach takes us from the near-past up to the present through the dominance (and eventual destruction) of The Golden State Warriors.

Jul 11, 2020

Coach covers the New Big 3 era of the Heat from 2011-2014, their battles with Dallas and San Antonio, and how the NBA should handle the delicate season restart in the Covid hot-spot of Florida.

Jul 11, 2020

Coach takes us through the innerworkings of the epic trade that gave Boston 3 first-ballot Hall of Fame players and lead them to their first championship of the new century.

Jun 22, 2020

This is one of my favorite episodes and makes me exceedingly proud to be related to our indefatigable and well-versed cohost. The only way we move on to a just future is if we all do our part, especially the white folks.

Jun 22, 2020

Coach and Tone break down the NBA Playoffs through the Spurs and Lakers dominance, and stop just before the dawn of Boston's Big 3 era!

Jun 22, 2020

Coach and Tone are back with a continuation of the great Playoff Review, this time wrapping up discussion of the much-anticipated Last Dance documentary with a historical breakdown of each playoff series through what Coach refers to as "The Dark Ages" of the NBA.

May 31, 2020

Coach and Tone finish the mini-series on Sam Jones, the unsung hero alongside Bill Russell on one of the most prominent dynasties American sports has ever known.

May 17, 2020

This ep is even more Coach-Healy-centric than usual. Coach provides an in-depth look at the life of Celtics legend Sam Jones as told in the book Ten Times a Champion by Mark Bodanza. Listen on for some amazing anecdotes that underscore the courage and brotherhood that it took to survive as a professional athlete in a segregated society.

May 6, 2020

Coach and Tone break down the great NBA Playoff battles of the mid-80's, the rise of the Nasty Boys, the beginning of the Dark Ages, and the rise of Jordan.

Apr 27, 2020

Buckle up because Coach Healy just unleashed a 30-for-30 in the making. How this week's topic has not been made into a documentary yet is beyond me. Coach spotlights the legions of outstanding players to grace the NBA from historically black colleges. This was a really interesting episode and shed a lot a of light onto an often unsung corner of NBA history.

Apr 19, 2020

Coach and Tone are back with a Coach Healy specialty: a look back into the annals of NBA history, when the league teetered on brink of failure in the late 70's and was saved by two bright young stars who would define the style and image of their era: Magic Johnson and Larry Bird.

This is the first installment of a multi-part series, covering 1979-1985.

Enjoy, and stay safe out there!

Mar 21, 2020

Will a global pandemic stop Coach Healy from attending the entirety of the high school boys basketball state tournament? I think you know the answer. Coach and Tone are here for you in the time of Covid to talk HS boys basketball, and answer your most pressing NBA questions like "why isn't the hoop 12 feet?" "why is there a foul-out rule?" "can we still criticize Marcus Smart even though he has coronavirus?"

Quote of the meanwhile: "Doesn't everyone realize that the dunk is just glorified offensive goaltending?"

Mar 15, 2020

Coach and Tone got one in just before the Covid-19 business got serious. Instead of discussing the postponement of the NBA season, Coach and Tone break down the hopes of the West teams on the cusp (there are several), and wonder aloud why the Celts don't play more Kanter and more zone against the streaking Rockets.

Feb 15, 2020

Starting out this All-Star break episode with an all-conference HOT take: Pierce was better than Kobe.

Also: The Jedi mind tricks of Mike D'antoni, trading to win now, the snubbing of Bradley Beal, and how to make All-Star Weekend great again.

Feb 4, 2020

Coach and Tone overcome technical difficulties and toddler meltdowns to revisit their pre-season predictions as the All-Star Break approaches. The East predictions actually turned out OK! The West on the other hand...

Feb 1, 2020

Coach gets DEEP as we all mourn the tragic loss of Kobe Bryant, his daughter, and seven other passengers in last week's horrible accident. This upload comes late compared to most other tributes, as the takes discussed surely will not match up with your average memorial. Thought-provoking analysis from the Boomer generation, or angry old white guy? You be the judge!

Jan 7, 2020

Coach and Tone remember recently departed NBA Commissioner David Stern, discuss why the Celts have everything they need to make a deep run this Spring, and who really had the best draft of 2019.

Enjoy, and foul responsibly!

Dec 17, 2019

Coach and Tone get into it on the road. Mobile edition #2 coming your way! The Celts are off to a better start this year, plus they actually like each other! The last third of the episode is coach talking about his other passion, Massachusetts football. Come on into the weeds with him as he gets into coaching lineages, spread offenses at the high school level, and the absurdity of 8 divisions in the tiny state of MA.

Nov 6, 2019

Coach breaks down his Western Conference hopefuls and has-beens, and gets into how implementing neighborhood rules would certainly make for a better return to week 2 of the 2019-20 season. Also: Coach and Tone bring back a favorite "All-Star" segment, this time for the "All-Tangle" team. Yes, Marcus Smart is a starter. And yes, Rodman was the MJ of the tangle in his day.
